Thanks to social media I will be back in our 50th state two weeks from today.
Last week I entered AM 570’s contest to win a trip to Hawaii. AM 570 is our local Fox Sports Radio affiliate and I listen to it every day. I signed up for the contest, which involved getting as many people to click my personal link; the person with the most clicks won the trip to Hawaii.
The contest ran for five days and I didn’t even get started until halfway through. But I took to Twitter and Facebook and asked all of my friends to click my link and click it often. After that first day I had pretty much forgotten about the contest and didn’t think I had any chance of winning. Thankfully I was wrong.
Thanks to social media and all of my friends clicking and retweeting, Alycia and I won the trip.
It really is an embarrassment of riches. I was blessed enough to go to Hawaii in June and, not two months later, I’ll be back there again. I know that it was just a radio contest, but I’m so grateful to God that he’s again blessed us with an opportunity to go to Hawaii.
Psalm 37:4 says, “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Honestly, ever since we got back from Hawaii it has been my desire to go back to Hawaii. It’s such a beautiful place and, after a long summer of ministry, I couldn’t think of a better place to relax and rest with God. I didn’t think there was any way we would make it back to Hawaii so I was more than happy to find peace and rest at home. God knows the desires of our hearts, though, and sometimes he shows us a tremendous amount of favor.
This trip is nothing more than an outpouring of God’s favor. It is unexpected and undeserved, which is why I haven’t stopped thanking God. God always showers his goodness on us; even if we hadn’t won the trip God would still be good. Sometimes, though, he shows a little extra goodness and, in those times, we should be a little extra thankful.
Aloha.
How do you respond when God shows you his favor?
Thanks a bunch! This is an great web page.
