I’ve had a lot of late night talks during these two weeks at camp. I’ve had some good conversations with students but a lot of my late night talks have been with counselors and camp staff.
In most horror movies bad things happen late at night. I don’t like watching horror movies so I really can’t reference the bad things that happen. I did watch Blade 2 once and, so many bad things happened at night, that I didn’t go to sleep.
Even though I’ve wanted to go to sleep early every night at camp, I’ve found myself staying up late and talking about life, God and relationships. I know that I’ll pay for the conversations in the morning, but a good, long talk is more life giving than an hour of sleep.
God created us to be in relationships with others. Sometimes those relationships take place when the sun is up. There are times, though, when a relationship is best strengthened by a late night talk that is too good to miss out on for sleep.
When do you like to invest in relationships?
Ahh horror films… I still cling to the hope that one day y’all will realize that they are really not that bad. A word of wisdom: There is nothing in the dark that is not there when the lights finally come back on. Thanks for the post Scott and enjoy camp 🙂
