In 562 days we will all be able to watch Episode 7 for the first time. Normally I wait until Saturday morning to see most movies, but I might not be able to make it until December 19, 2015.
562 days is a long time to wait and I don’t know if I can handle the anticipation.
TMZ has been leaking numerous photos from the set of Episode 7. A lot are from the desert in Abu Dhabi and some of the more recent photos came from Pinewood Studios in England. I’m not going to post the photos here because I don’t want Disney sending me an angry email.
We are 562 days from its release, and I am already sucking up every bit of information about Episode 7. Most of the pictures from Abu Dhabi were of extras posing with other extras. I poured over each picture to see what I could glean about Episode 7.
I hate when trailers give away too much of a movie and I definitely don’t want to know too much going into the theater. But we are 562 days out from Episode 7 and I don’t think I can help myself.
Star Wars is my first and favorite nerdclination. Revenge of the Sith premiered almost 10 years ago. I’m sure people were sharing information and scoops from the set, but the excitement was tempered. Episodes 1 and 2 had been fairly disappointing; most people were just hoping that Episode 3 wouldn’t be a train wreck.
J.J. Abrams has infused Star Wars with some new life and fresh energy. That life and energy have raised the excitement level for Episode 7. We are filled with anticipation, so much so that we’re eating up any scrap of information 562 days before its release.
I know that I need more patience in my life, which is why I keep picking the wrong checkout line in Costco and Target. Perhaps all of this Episode 7 information is just another way God wants to help me become more patient.
If that’s the case, I’ll have the patience of Job 562 days from now.
