This week’s episode of The Christian Nerd Podcast is all about Nexus phones and whether or not seeking justice can involve violence.. Scott and Ron kick off the episode with Nerd News and talk about Google’s new phone and water on Mars.. In From the Blog they talk about a hero who rescued a blind student from getting attacked. Should we feel good when we see a bully punched even though Jesus told us to turn the other cheek? In The Countdown they list times when God was nice in the Old Testament and mean in the New Testament. They finish off the episode with Tweet of the Week.

Opening quote: “Long since on Mars and more strongly since he came to Perelandra, Ransom had been perceiving that the triple distinction of truth from myth and both from fact was purely terrestrial-was part and parcel of that unhappy distinction between soul and body which resulted from the fall. Even on earth the sacraments existed as a permanent reminder that the division was neither wholesome nor final. The Incarnation had been the beginning of its disappearance. In Perelandra it would have no meaning at all.” – Perelandra

Thanks to Nick for The Christian Nerd theme music.
I’ve been listening and enjoying since podcast #1…
OT = Mean God, NT = Nice God has always rubbed me the wrong way; thanks for coming up with your top 5 list showing the opposite. Here are my favorites you didn’t touch on:
Isaiah 1: God shares how horrible Israel has been, and yet offers them a clean slate… “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.”
Acts 12:21-23: I mean, it was tough not choosing the Second Death, or the time Jesus was so ticked off at what the people were doing in His Father’s temple that he made a whip. But killing Herod on the spot for not praising God, and then mentioning he was eaten by worms. Well, that puts it over the top for me.
Thanks so much for listening. Any time someone is mentioned as being eaten by worms is a good time.
