It’s been a while since we read a book together.
At the beginning of 2012 I started reading through the Harry Potter books. I’d never read the books and I hadn’t seen the movies. I invited you to read along with me and share your thoughts about Harry and his adventures. I figured it was time to read through another book and I would love for you to join me.
We’re going to read through C.S. Lewis’s Space Trilogy. I’ve read the books before and thoroughly enjoyed them but my podcast cohost Ron hasn’t. So we’ll talk about the books on the show and I’ll share some thoughts here on the blog.
We’ll start with Out of the Silent Planet. Below is the schedule I’ll be keeping; so if you’d like to share your thoughts just follow along.
Friday, October 16: Chapters 1-8.
Friday, October 23: Chapters 9-16.
Friday, October 30: Chapter 17-Postscript.
Lewis is well known for The Chronicles of Narnia and rightly so; they are amazing books. In The Space Trilogy, though, Lewis shows that his genius for fiction doesn’t need Aslan or Narnia.
If you have or haven’t read the books before, I’d love for you to join along. We’ll be able to do something together and see more of our great God in a genre we love: science fiction.
You can order the book here.
